summer pants

Last year I've made 3 skirts for N.
this year already 2 dresses and now summerpants.

Made from an old bedsheet with the cutest pink flowers on it.

And the pants are approved!
She said: "Deze wil ik niet meer uit, heel lang niet".

very free translation: "wanna keep these on forever"

How happy can a mother be :)

oh, and the pattern is from Ottober summer 2/2004

how to make a little Vaderdag Book tutorial

HOW TO MAKE A LITTLE BOOK
1. collect nice paper
I used wallpaper samples (Hubo, Gamma)

2. fold the paper once

stamp/write/paint/draw

3. put the pages together

5. sew it, on the fold, with strong thread.
I used Quiltcotton/polyester.

this little book is for my father
and the children (6 and 3) made it.
title: The Animal Stamp Book
but the real, uncencured title is a little bit different,
too rude to translate :)

colour

This weekend I will go to Antwerp.
We (a set of girls) will have a craftmeeting.
And learn eachother things.
So I will give "how to crochet a flower"
and selected some cottons from my stash

I just LOVE all these colours
and what I love the most:
yarn that's wounded in balls, just by hand
all yarn looks better in handmade balls
even better then in centerpulled things (skeins?)

warning, last picture can be shocking!

This is a post about a normal day in my life.
two days a week I work on a "cluster 2" school where I teach
deaf, autistic, hardhearing, esm-ers and other children with communication problems
from 12-14 years old
I'm a drama teacher
to see what I do in a lesson, see the last picture..
we cut legs... and use ketchup .. :)

after a long hard day I can really enjoy ironing my thrifted
fabrics
this is an old Portugese apron

a "doorstop" tablecloth

and yesterday I've made big coasters for 2 things:
like a bottle and a glass

and now the bloody picture:

Icarus ::2::

Icarus (Ravelry link) is slowly getting bigger

Love the yarn, the pattern and the repeat-ness of it.
